Students and staff at Howland High School will soon be getting some visits from furry friends looking to provide emotional support.

Starting Friday, January 31, therapy dogs from the P.A.W.S. Therapy Team will visit the school about once per month during lunch and study hall in the common area near the cafeteria.

The first visit will be Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Students and staff will have the opportunity to visit the dogs in small groups should they need comfort or emotional support. These sessions will be supervised by school staff and handlers from P.A.W.S.

P.A.W.S. is offering this service at no cost to the school or its students.

All of the dogs are fully vaccinated, leashed at all times and are specifically trained to work in school settings.
