The internet’s heart instantly melted at the sound of a baby giggling while the family dog carefully played with her.
The Wilemon family has had their dog, Reagan, since before their first child and now, with a second one, Reagan has become an expert on babies. The mother, Kaylee Wilemon, noted that Reagan “transitioned seamlessly” with both children. He prides himself on being the protective, older brother and when it comes to playtime, he knows to scale it back.
In the February 17 TikTok video posted to her account, @kayleewilemon, Reagan and the baby sat together on the floor with a blanket in between. Reagan wanted to play tug-of-war but knew to be careful with the baby. He gently pulled the blanket in his mouth as the baby held on. She immediately erupted with laughter before pulling it back toward her.
Reagan’s interaction with the baby brought Wilemon to tears. She’s blown away that the dog can sense when to take it easy with her children. The text on the video reads: “The fact he doesn’t tug very hard bc he knows she is just a baby gets me every time.”

Wilemon told Newsweek via TikTok that Reagan “takes his role as older brother very seriously, guarding the cribs at night, barking at any and all strangers that come within a half mile of our house and playing very gently as you can see in the video.”
He stays “unbothered” by the kids crawling on him. He loves the company. Plus, he gets rewarded for his sweet and gentle demeanor. Wilemon said her daughter has started sneaking tiny bits of her food to Reagan while she eats in the highchair.
“It’s a precious relationship that I am so glad people got a glimpse of,” Wilemon said.
