How dog greets owner after 12-hour shift hailed “best part of the day”

No matter how stressful a day at work might have been, coming home to a wagging-tailed fur baby helps melt all the worries away. Their happiness when seeing you is an instant mood-booster.

A dog owner Robin Klein, who is known on TikTok as @bobbin08, luckily doesn’t have to wait until he enters his home for a greeting smothered with jumping and kisses. His dog Sandie and boyfriend will meet him on his way home after a 12-hour shift at the hospital.

Klein walked outside following his shift and spotted familiar faces at the end of the block in a July 25 TikTok video. His boyfriend was walking the dog and planned to meet Klein, a tradition the family has after all his shifts. The boyfriend pointed out to the cockapoo who was finally off work, unclipped her leash and the rest was history.

Full speed ahead this owner’s “hairy daughter” ran down the sidewalk. Her ears flapping in the wind didn’t slow her down. All her focus was on Klein. She couldn’t believe the long grueling 12 hours were finally over and nothing would get in her way of seeing him.

The caption reads: “Best part of the day!!!”

Sandie couldn’t even sit still when she was next to Klein. She circled him, jumping up and down.

In a separate clip that shows Sandie doing the same thing, he mentioned that this is a daily occurrence. Rain or shine, his boyfriend and dog walk to meet him. It makes up for the long 12-hour shifts. One would think Sandie has become used to this routine, but she is still overjoyed and greets him like they haven’t seen each other in days.

With 852,600 views and 162,500 likes on Monday, TikTok viewers were head over heels for this precious interaction.

“We don’t deserve dogs,” said one TikToker.

Another added: “Best part of my day is pulling up after work and seeing my fur babies manic reaction at the window.”

A third person commented: “The only unconditional love anyone will ever experience in their life.”

Sandie isn’t the only dog with precious greetings for their owners. One dog learned the sound of her owner’s boyfriend’s car and whenever she hears it, she races to the fence to welcome him. Another looked like he was dancing as he spotted his owner walking toward the groomer’s door.

Reactions like these are a reminder that to a dog, their human is their entire life. As a previous video shared with Newsweek explained, no matter how tired you are, your dog waited all day to be with you. It doesn’t matter if you were gone for an hour or two, having you by their side is all they want.
