Houston woman, 65, dies after dog attack; investigation ongoing

The victim was found at her home on Wayside Village Way, near Wayside Drive.

HOUSTON — Houston police are investigating the weekend death of a 65-year-old woman found at her home. According to HPD, the victim was killed by her neighbor’s three dogs. 

It happened just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 23. Police responded to a call about a deceased person at a home on Wayside Village Way near Wayside Drive in northeast Houston. 

According to HPD homicide detectives, the dogs broke through a shared fence into the victim’s backyard and attacked her. Her name hasn’t been released.

They said the owner of the dogs didn’t witness the attack but realized what happened and called 9-1-1. 

Harris County Animal Control responded to the scene and took possession of the dogs. 

No charges have been filed at this time but the investigation is continuing.
