Two dozen dogs found following breeder’s death
The death of a breeder in Alvin has brought to life a case of horrific animal cruelty.
ALVIN, Texas – One of more than two dozen dogs were found in a hoarder situation. Most of the dogs had never been out of a crate.
It’s believed the dogs spent two to three days with the owner dead in the house.

“It was horrific,” said Jennifer Hendricks, Director of Jenni’s Rescue Ranch. “The cages didn’t have bottoms, so whatever they did at the top just fell to the ones underneath.”
The breeder, who died of natural causes, was also a hoarder.
“There was no flooring. I had to get down on my hands and knees,” Jenni said. “Once my HAZMAT suit got stuck to the floor, I had to pull it. It was bad.”

Jenni and her assistant had to wear HAZMAT suits.
“It was not safe for any human to be in there without one,” she said.
Two dogs were on the bed with the owner who died. Two additional dogs were also found under the bed.
25 dogs taken from the filth and squalor are now with Jenni’s Rescue Ranch.
Without the ranch, they would likely be dead.
It’s going to take money and time, but Jenni says the dogs will be ready for adoption.
