House fire in Springfield leaves one injured, two dogs deceased

A house fire in the 500 block of 40th Street in Springfield on Thursday morning left one person seriously injured and two dogs deceased.

Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF) responded to the blaze after receiving a call at 8:45 a.m. on March 6, 2025. Upon arrival ESF tells us, Engine 14 discovered heavy fire on one side of a duplex.

The lone occupant was transported to a hospital with serious injuries related to smoke inhalation. Tragically, two dogs were found deceased during the search.

No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
