
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A house fire in the 500 block of 40th Street in Springfield on Thursday morning left one person seriously injured and two dogs deceased.
Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF) responded to the blaze after receiving a call at 8:45 a.m. on March 6, 2025. Upon arrival ESF tells us, Engine 14 discovered heavy fire on one side of a duplex.
The lone occupant was transported to a hospital with serious injuries related to smoke inhalation. Tragically, two dogs were found deceased during the search.
No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
