CORVALLIS, Ore. — Two dogs died in an early morning house fire, according to the Corvallis Fire Department (CFD).
CFD crews, along with a water tender from Adair Rural Fire and Rescue, responded to the scene around 6:00 a.m. in the Corvallis Rural Fire Protection District.
Fire officials say when crews arrived on scene they found the fire had spread through out the home, with the fire burning through the roof.
More than 1,000 ft. of fire hose was laid by responding crews along the driveway to the home, with water tenders used to supply water for firefighting operations.
CFD says that fire crews were able to keep the fire confined to the structure and prevented it from spreading to nearby trees and wooded areas.
The fire was fully extinguished an hour later at 7:00 a.m.
According to fire officials, the sole occupant of the home was not present at the start of the fire. However two dogs died as a result of the blaze and were recovered by firefighters.
The fire department says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
