West Jordan fire officials said it happened Wednesday about 4 p.m. near 5600 West and 6700 South.
While all family members managed to escape the flames, one individual was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Tragically, two family dogs did not survive the fire.
Neighbor Charis Sivulka recalled the terrifying moment she noticed the fire.
“I look out my window, and I just see flames coming out of the first window over there — the big window. It’s like huge flames, crazy,” Sivulka said.
Panicked, Charis quickly called her father, Rob Sivulka, who was out on carpool duty.
“I’m like, ‘Hey, the neighbor’s house is on fire right now. I’m not sure what to do,'” Charis Sivulka said.

“She was kind of freaking out,” Rob Sivulka said. “I told her, ‘You better call 911 and you better start videoing.'”
