WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – There was music, fun and food for anyone who stopped by Happy Diggity Dog Day in Waterbury Sunday afternoon.
Free franks and snacks were served to the dozens who gathered in Martin Luther King Park’s lower level.
The event was hosted by Lady of Love, a non-profit founded in 2013 with the mission of providing nutritional meals, hygiene products and daily living essentials to people in need, regardless of their circumstances.
“ We wanted to bless the fathers and anyone who comes out. Its made for the fathers but we’re going to feed everybody,” said Sharon Porter, founder and CEO of Lady of Love. “We’re going to feed them and take care of them.”
Every plate that was served also came with a free bag of personal hygiene products.
