Lilibeth, a 7-year-old cat, is available for adoption at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Animal Shelter, 1432 Tall Timber Road NE in New Philadelphia. She was surrendered through no fault of her own and was quite neglected. She came in with her entire back mounded with mats more than two inches thick that had to be shaved off. Her coat was so impacted from improper care that shelter staff had to brush her daily for two weeks and give her oatmeal baths to help with the dandruff buildup on her skin. She’s very grateful for her care and loves to be brushed and petted. She does well with the other cats in her adoption room. She is currently scheduled to have her teeth cleaned and maybe some pulled on April 19. She is spayed and current on vaccinations and preventatives.
Grandpa Walter, a 10-year-old beagle/lab mix, is available at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Animal Shelter. He came from a very bad situation through our humane officer with three other dogs and many cats. He is a spritely old man who came in with a baboon butt. After many baths and oral antifungals, he is making a lot of good progress and now only has a little naked rat tail left. He loves his baths, and the shelter can send home shampoo with adopters. He lived with a child previously, though we are unsure of the age of the child. He is neutered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. The shelter is closed on Thursday.
