Gus the Theater Cat, a 3-year-old cat, is among those available for adoption at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Animal Shelter, 1432 Tall Timber Road NE in New Philadelphia. He was surrendered as a stray and is one of the sweetest cats ever. He wants to climb up your chest and press his little face into yours while you pet him. He is special needs due to the fact that he has a polyp or tumor in his nasal cavity. Interested adopters need to know the shelter cannot guarantee how many years he will have or what his medical care will look like in the future. He is neutered and current on vaccinations and preventatives.
Butterball Turkey, a 5-year-old pit bull, is available at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Animal Shelter. She was transferred to us from Bark Nation after being rescued from a fight ring in Detroit. She is a very sweet girl that is scared of metal bowls and has to eat off of a plastic platter. She likes to wear her winter jacket in her kennel and snuggle in her warm blankets. She does well with other dogs, and can be cat tested her for an approved application. She has some scarring that the hair has grown in white and some arthritis in her one elbow. She is on a joint supplement and may need intermittent carprofen (basically ibuprofen for dogs) for pain management in the future if it bothers her. She is spayed and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption hours at the shelter are 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
