Kaiya, a senior ferret, is available for adoption at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Animal Shelter, 1432 Tall Timber Road NE in New Philadelphia. Kaiya is looking for a hospice home. She was brought in after being abandoned in a home. She is a very petite girl who has vision impairment, if not completely blind. She has an adrenal tumor as well. The shelter is just looking for a nice, cozy home for her to finish out her happy ferret days in. Fill out a cat adoption application at: www.tuschumanesociety.com
Grandpa Walter, a 10-year-old beagle/lab mix, is available at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Animal Shelter. He came from a very bad situation through the humane officer with three other dogs and many cats. He is a spritely old man who came in with a baboon butt. After many baths and oral antifungals, he is making a lot of good progress and now only has a little naked rat tail left. He loves his baths and the shelter can send home shampoo with adopters. He lived with a child previously, though the child’s age is unknown. He is neutered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. The shelter is closed on Thursday. The phone number is 330-343-6060 and the website is www.tuschumanesociety.com.
