Forget business cards and LinkedIn link swaps, on 14–15 May women around the world will unite not for personal gain, but for a cause that truly matters: saving lives.
Mums in Business International, the fastest-growing global network for women in business, is partnering with Hopefull Handbags Global, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women and children impacted by domestic abuse, to host Networkathon 2025, a 24-hour virtual experience built on connection, compassion, and collective strength.
Domestic abuse thrives in silence and isolation, but Networkathon 2025 is flipping the narrative by bringing people together, creating visibility, raising critical funds, and offering hope to those who need it most.
The goal is to raise $25,000 to help survivors find safety, rebuild their lives, and regain their independence.
“We know that 85% of opportunities come from who you know, not just what you know,” said Leona Burton, CEO of Mums in Business International and co-host of the event. “We are running Networkathon 2025 to tap into that same power of connection to help women escape abuse. This isn’t just about growing your network, it’s about saving lives and making a difference for many.”
Leona continues, “We know that many women in our communities are living with domestic abuse and are cut off from the world, isolated from family, friends, and support. Through Networkathon 2025, we’re building a bridge: from alone to community, from fear to safety with very connection made and every dollar donated bringing someone closer to freedom.”

With a $25,000 goal, we’re inviting our worldwide community to step up, show up, and take action. Participants for the event can donate here and join a raft of sessions connecting them with like-minded peers from around the world and they can know that while growing their network, knowledge, and business, every pledge made will help bring women and children to safety.
