Homes needed for dogs, cats: Wake County Animal Center slashes adoption fees

The Wake County Animal Center is slashing adoption fees for dogs and cats in December for its “Home for the Holidays” adoption campaign.

Between Dec. 1 and Dec. 22, dogs are only $25 and cats are only $5. Every pet adopted from the Wake County Animal Center is spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

A photo gallery of animals available for adoption is posted online.

Currently, there are 98 dogs, three puppies, 23 cats and 16 kittens waiting to meet their forever families. Another 39 dogs, 13 cats and 17 kittens are at foster homes ready for adoption.

The shelter, located at 820 Beacon Lake Drive, is open for adoptions seven days a week from
12 p.m. to 6 p.m. near the
intersection of I-440 and New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.

People unable to adopt can donate items like blankets, toys and food to the shelter’s holiday wish list. You can also donate money to help with medical treatments and the care and well-being of the animals.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
