HFD: 80-pound dog rescued from hiking trail, reunited with owner

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – HFD crews rescued an 80-pound dog named “Tonka” who got lost on a hiking trail in Aina Haina Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the Wailupe Gulch Trail around 8:45 a.m.

They were called after the owner of the dog said they couldn’t safely look for or retrieve Tonka on the trail.

It took HFD about two hours to find Tonka.

He was then airlifted and reunited with his owner.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
