TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) is urgently seeking foster homes for 10 young dogs diagnosed with distemper. These pups, who were part of a group of 15 dogs living in a single backyard, need your help to recover and thrive.
PACC has successfully found homes for five of the dogs, but due to limited isolation space, the remaining 10 need foster placements by Tuesday, April 29.
Distemper is not contagious to cats or vaccinated adult dogs. “They’re shy, but their hearts are ready to trust,” PACC said. The center is providing all necessary supplies, medical care, and vaccine boosters for your pets if needed.
These dogs need a temporary home for one to three months while they recover. They are not showing symptoms currently.
Community members are encouraged to visit PACC during business hours to meet these dogs or email pacc.medicalfoster@pima.gov for more information.
