Help fill Handbags for Hope in Keremeos

The ladies of the Keremeos Royal Purple are once again looking for the support and generosity of the community to help with their Handbags for Hope program for women and men in need.

The program provides bags filled with necessary items for people in need. Last year they were able to provide 76 bags.

Donations are being collected from Nov. 18 to 22, at the Valley First Credit Union on 7th Avenue in Keremeos. Donations can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The program is sponsored by the Lower Similkameen Community Services Society.

In addition to items to fill the bags, members of the Royal Purple are looking for new or gently used large purses in which to put toiletries.

The types of toiletries they are looking for are: shampoo/conditioner, small hair brushes/combs, soap, hand sanitizer, facial tissues, toothpaste and brushes, floss, deodorant, lotions, tampons/pads, and anything else a woman or man might need.

As the weather is getting colder, any new scarves, toques, gloves or socks would also be appreciated.

“The generosity in our community has been overwhelming in past years and we are hoping that once again you will come through for our cause,” said the Royal Purple.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
