Hearts melt as owner sees sleeping dog being “very good boy” in his dreams

A recent TikTok video of a dog caught preciously sleeping the day away melted viewers’ hearts.

TikTok user @rachempixie found her Labrador named Ozzy fast asleep on the couch. He curled himself between the set of pillows, allowing space for the rest of the family to join him. But anyone who saw him snoozing wouldn’t want to disturb him as he looked to be in the middle of a dream.

With his eyes glued shut, Ozzy’s tail kept wagging back and forth. It was clear to the owner that her dog was having a dream, but what about? She theorized that he was being a “very good boy” in his dreams, just as he is daily.

TikTok viewers quickly flocked to the video and claimed how “sweet” and “cute” Ozzy looked while he slept.

“You just know he is so loved..look at him,” said one user.

Another guessed about Ozzy’s dream: “Being the goodest boyo and getting treats or going for a big walk and a swim.”

Doggy Dreams

We can all take guesses on what our dogs dream about. Perhaps they’re chasing squirrels or enjoying a dip in the pool, but is there a way to know for certain? An article from the American Kennel Club reported that scientists are researching a dog’s sleep cycles and dreaming, hopefully bringing humans a step closer to understanding pets.

Dogs, like humans, go through several sleep cycles—wakefulness, rapid eye movement (REM) sleep and non-rapid-eye-movement sleep. In the REM sleep period, the most memorable and vivid dreams occur. Scientists can use specialized equipment to track these sleep cycles and brain activity during these periods.

Research results found that “dogs dream doggy things” and will dream in similar patterns to that in humans. Surprisingly enough, a dog’s breed can determine how often canines dream and what they dream about. The article said that small dogs have more frequent but shorter dreams than larger ones.

While people wish they could know what dogs dream about, there is no way to know for certain, but one can make guesses. The article suggested looking for any similarities between your dog’s actions during REM sleep and their daily activities. For example, dogs who love running might be twitching their paws while dreaming.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
