A heartwarming and hilarious video of a senior Australian shepherd has captured hearts online, with 12-year-old Mido running in completely the wrong direction, trying to locate his owner.
Mido’s owner, Tira from Norway, shared the video on TikTok, saying that her senior dog occasionally loses track of her during walks—but remains unfazed by his moments of confusion.
“He does struggle to locate me at walks every once in a while. He is an independent guy, so he’s not very worried about keeping track of me all the time,” Tira, who didn’t give a surname, told Newsweek.
“He is a Ferdinand that wanders off to smell the flowers—and then he suddenly realizes he doesn’t know where I am. It’s a good thing I have his younger sister Navi to track him down and show him the way back to me.”

The clip delighted animal lovers online who shared their reactions in the comments.
“Love it! I used to take my brother’s deaf old dog on walks, only times he was allowed of leash as he would follow my dog anywhere she went,” posted NoeketoeK.
Viewer Dragonrider333 wrote: “My older girl who has lost some of her hearing has always followed me. There was a couple times she thought we were going in a different direction, but I got her attention and she corrected her heading.”
User jo bradshaw commented: “He’s trying!”
Tira said that it was particularly difficult for Mido to keep track of her on the walk in the video, as snow and sunlight further impaired his eyesight, while the large open area likely created an echo making it harder for him to locate her calls.
“I shared because I figured there must be more people that have experienced similar things with their senior dogs, and I hoped it would make someone smile—he certainly gives me some good laughs,” Tira said.
She was thrilled that the video was enjoyed by other pet lovers, too: “I did not expect so many people to like, comment and react to the video! I’m very happy I get to share a piece of my sweet old man with so many. He loves having all eyes on him, being the center of attention, being a clown and making people laugh.”
