MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Attorneys for a mother and son charged with throwing two dogs off the Dog River Bridge gave up their right to a preliminary hearing today. The case now will go to a grand jury.
Mary Rivers and Tavoris Gallery are charged with a felony cruelty to a dog.
Prosecutors allege that Gallery, at the behest of Rivers, threw the dogs off the bridge for eating Rivers’ chickens while she was away.
A grand jury will now determine whether the defendants will be indicted on the felony charge.
