
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of seven dogs who were found at a Georgetown property.
Deputies were called to a property on Gapway Road during the late evening on Feb. 23 after a report of animal cruelty, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived, they found seven dead pitbulls with a single gunshot wound to each of their heads. The dogs were chained and secured in the yard of the property.
A witness testified that the animals were not harmed when they were checked on earlier in the afternoon the same day.
A veterinarian autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
