THEY’RE HOSTING A DISCOUNTED ADOPTION EVENT TO TRY TO FREE UP SOME SPACE AND FIND HOMES FOR SOME SPECIAL NEEDS DOGS. WVTM 13 S LISA CRANE SPENT THE DAY THERE AND THEY MET. SHE MET TWO OF THE PUPS. CAT OR DOG? BIG OR LITTLE, LAZY OR FULL OF ENERGY. YOU CAN FIND YOUR PERFECT PET AT THE GREATER BIRMINGHAM HUMANE SOCIETY. OUT OF THE DOZENS THEY’RE WAITING TO FIND YOU. SOME ARE A LITTLE MORE SPECIAL THAN OTHERS, LIKE SNOWFLAKE. IT TOOK US A WHILE TO FIND OUT SHE WAS DEAF BECAUSE SHE. WE JUST NEVER REALIZED WE WOULD TRY TO CALL HER NAME. AND SHE WOULD. SHE WOULDN’T LISTEN TO US. SHE’S AN ALMOST ONE YEAR OLD ALBINO PIT LAB MIX. BECAUSE SHE’S DEAF. SHE HARDLY EVER BARKS AND SHE LOVES TO CUDDLE. SHE’S GOOD ON THE LEASH, EVEN THOUGH SHE CAN’T HEAR. SHE DOES LISTEN VERY WELL TO CORRECTIONS FROM OTHER DOGS. SHE REALLY IS JUST THE SWEETEST DOG. THROUGH MAY 15TH YOU CAN ADOPT SNOWFLAKE OR ANY ANIMAL HERE FOR JUST $25. WE’RE SUPER EXCITED! HE IS A FOUR YEAR OLD CHOI WEINI MIX. PROBABLY SOME SHITZU IN THERE SOMEWHERE TOO, AND HE IS SPORTING A BILLY RAY CYRUS ERA MULLET. AND THEY SAY THIS IS A FACE ONLY A MOTHER COULD LOVE. HE IS NOT THE CUTEST IN MY OPINION. BUT BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. IT DEPENDS ON WHO WHO WANTS TO LOOK AT HIM OR WANTS TO ADOPT HIM. SO SOMETIMES THEY’RE SO UGLY. THEY’RE CUTE. YEAH, EXACTLY. YEAH. I THINK HE’S ONE OF THOSE CASES IN BIRMINGHAM LISA CRANE WVTM 13. I THINK HE’S CUTE. SO SWEET. IT’S FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. GBHS searching for good homes for special needs dogs
Folks at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society need your help to make some room at the shelter. They’re hosting a discounted adoption event to try to free up space and find homes for some special needs dogs.Cat or dog, big or little, lazy or full of energy. You can find your perfect pet at GBHS out of the dozens there waiting to find you. Some are a little more special than others, like Snowflake.Hadden Beamer at GBHS said, “It took us a while to find out she was deaf because we just never realized. We would try to call her name, and she would, she wouldn’t listen to us.”Snowflake is an almost 1-year-old albino pit/lab mix. Because she’s deaf, she hardly ever barks, and she likes to cuddle.Beamer added, “She’s good on the leash. Even though she can’t hear. She does listen very well to corrections from other dogs. She really is just the sweetest dog.”Through May 15, you can adopt Snowflake or any animal at the shelter for just $25. Stephanie Salvago with GBHS said, “We’re super excited. We are a full shelter, just like many shelters and rescues across the country. Beamer added, “He is not the cutest in my opinion. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It depends on who wants to look at him or wants to adopt him. Sometimes they’re so ugly, they’re cute, you know? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I think he’s one of those cases.”It’s first come, first served.
