Furry Friday: Room for one more this Thanksgiving? Dogs ready to join you for a feast and some football

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – There are dozens of dogs awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center that would be thankful to spend Thanksgiving, the holidays ahead … and forever really … with your family.

Furry Friday is a collaboration between WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center designed to get dogs awaiting adoption out of their kennels and into the spotlight in hopes of helping them find their fur-ever families.

Here are the four dogs we are featuring this week:

MEET THEO

Theodore - his friends call him Theo - is ready to be your perfect plus one!

Meet Theo.

This handsome boy is so smart. He’s patient and polite and loves treats.

Theo is curious – maybe a little shy at first – but warms up fast.

The lab mix enjoys taking walks and exploring parks and trails.

Theo wants to be your one and only dog.

He’s looking for a family that can give him lots of TLC to restore the shine to his coat, so it’ll match the sparkle in his eyes.

Theo is three years old.

If Theo looks like your perfect plus one, visit him this weekend at the shelter.

MEET BLU CHANNEL

Meet Blu Chanel.

She’s making the most of a recent rainstorm.

This beauty loves splashing in puddles and drinking from puddles.

She likes to keep it moving, but doesn’t mind pausing for a back scratch. She’ll even turn around so you can get the other side.

Blu Chanel is seven. She has lots of energy but will wait patiently – and sometimes not so patiently – for treats.

She likes kids and even cats.

You can meet Blu Chanel this weekend at the shelter.

MEET SOLAR

Solar is ready to join you on your next adventure. Starting now.

Meet Solar.

This pretty pup is playful and interested in joining you for just about anything.

Solar has mastered the art of drinking from water fountains.

She enjoyed tracking footprints in the sand and making her own.

Solar loves belly rubs and neck scratches.

This 6-month old pointer mix is looking for a laid-back family that is in to togetherness.

You can meet Solar – and bond with her – this weekend at the shelter.

MEET MUFFIN

Meet Muffin. Smiling, snuggling and snoring are her specialties.

Meet Muffin.

This pint size princess adores the camera.

She’ll look right in your eye and stop to make sure you’re keeping up.

Muffin likes snuggling and snoring and apparently someone else likes that too, because someone adopted her before we could even put her on TV!

So Muffin, we hope you are snuggling and snoring on someone’s couch right now!

But Muffin has lots of friends still waiting to be adopted. You can visit them this weekend at the shelter.

MEET AND GREET

You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center this weekend.

People can walk through the kennels Wednesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. People can also visit by appointment the rest of the week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Check out the dogs and cats available for adoption on the shelter’s website.

Adoption fees are $20 for cats and $30 for dogs. That fee includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, Martingale collar and leash, and a small bag of food.

CONGRATULATIONS!

We are excited to share that three dogs featured recently on Furry Friday have been adopted in the past week!

Congratulations to Sundance, Miracle and Gabby and to all of their new fur-ever families!

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
