TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Kennels at the shelter are beyond full and more than 100 dogs are ready and waiting to be adopted.
Furry Friday is a collaboration between WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center designed to get pets awaiting adoption out of their kennels and into the spotlight in hopes of helping them find their fur-ever families.
Here are the dogs we are featuring this week:
MEET SPEC

Meet Spec.
He’s a hugger, not a fighter.
This boisterous boy even gave our camera a kiss.
Spec is named for his fancy speckled feet.
Good luck keeping up with him, but he always looks over his shoulder to make sure you’re right behind him!
Spec loves to run and explore and splash in the water.
This active, affectionate dog is ready to be a part of your active, affectionate family.
Spec is three years old.
MEET MACY GRAY

This is Macy Gray.
She is loving and lively.
She enjoys running and playing fetch, and rolling in the green grass and cool sand.
The five year old was recently surrendered by her owner who could no longer care for her.
Macy Gray is house-trained, kid-friendly, and so ready to be part of a family again.
MEET MARLIN

Ready. Set. Go!
Meet Marlin.
This one year old is full of energy and can’t wait to explore the wide world at your side.
Marlin is playful and joyful and just digs being a dog – running through the woods, chewing on sticks, and rolling in the grass.
He will stop long enough for a good back scratch and some sweet talk.
Marlin is a sharp dressed man in his creamy camo coat and can’t wait to be your plus one!
MEET RUSS

This handsome gentleman is Russ.
His manners are exquisite and he will readily sit and shake your hand.
Russ thinks he’s a lap dog and enjoys a good snuggle, but he really smiles when you take him for a run … bounding and bouncing along … this free spirit is full of love and life!
Russ is two years old.
MEET AND GREET
You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Services Center this weekend. People can walk through the kennels on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. People can also visit by appointment the rest of the week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
The adoption fee for dogs is $30 and for cats is $20. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, Martingale collar and leash, and a small bag of dog food.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Three more dogs featured on Furry Friday were adopted this week! Honky Tonk and Tori were adopted within days! Corbin – a dog with a smile a mile wide – was adopted too! Congratulations and thanks to their new families!
