Furry Friday: Dogs making tail-wagging turnarounds!

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Some of the dogs awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center have harrowing stories to tell. Three of the dogs featured on WCTV’s Furry Friday this week are making tremendous progress after coming in badly injured, severely malnourished and abandoned. Hopefully the next step in their turnaround? A loving family!

Furry Friday is a collaboration between WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. Each week it spotlights pets awaiting adoption in hopes of helping them find new fur-ever families.

Here are the dogs we’re featuring this week:

MEET WENDY

Wendy is hoping to do zoomies in her dream backyard. Who's in?

Meet Wendy.

This fun-loving girl loves playing fetch and tug of war and starts her day with a case of the zoomies!

Wendy was found abandoned in a Wendy’s parking lot and she is now in foster care, anxious to find a family and the backyard of her dreams!

Wendy has a soft side too, she is always up for snuggling or a good belly rub.

The one year old is housebroken and crate trained and walks well on a leash.

MEET ICE

Ice will warm your heart! He needs a family with lots of love and patience.

Meet Ice.

Life is looking up for him. He was found with a chain around his neck and a severely injured leg.

Ice is now getting used to navigating the world with three legs and is looking for a family with lots of love and patience.

Ice is sweet and affectionate and loves children.

This 8-month-old puppy would love a soft place to land and a family that can embrace both his playful side and his couch potato side.

MEET POPPY

Poppy thinks she is the perfect lap dog!

Meet Poppy.

This girl is full of life.

She was oh so skinny when she was found, but is gaining weight and looking more like her bouncy, beautiful self.

Poppy loves talking walks and stopping to smell the roses … or just about anything else!

She thinks she’s a lap dog and even climbed right into our lap at her photo shoot earlier this week.

Poppy isn’t shy at all and has lots of people friends and puppy friends.

She’d like to find a family she can snuggle up to next!

Poppy is 3 years old.

MEET CLEO

Cleo is ready to join you on a morning walk, an evening stroll or your couch!

This little lady is Cleo.

She’s a happy girl who loves playing with toys and taking short strolls.

She loves giving kisses and Cleo really likes spreading out on a cool floor.

If you’re looking for a compact companion for a morning walk or the spot next to you on the couch, Cleo is ready and waiting for you!

Cleo is three years old and weighs 45-pounds.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
