HOUSTON – Cool, crisp and refreshing: Words we don’t always get to use when describing the Houston forecast, but thanks to a cold front we are waking up to cooler temperatures in the morning.
And that brings us to our pets and fall – because it turns out they too enjoy the cooler temperatures.
According to the folks at Voss Road Animal Clinic, with the cooler temperatures you might notice your dog running laps. I know my dog Bolt, loves his morning workouts, now that we have cooler mornings. The folks at the clinic say during the summer, more than likely, your dog likes to lay in the sun and take it easy, but when the cooler temps hit they want to run. You want to make sure you have a fence and/or a durable leash because they will more than likely want to run in the mornings.
And thanks to the break in the heat and humidity- now is the time to garden too! According to Dr. Rani Kamal from Voss Road Animal Clinic, if you’re gardening this weekend, double-check that your fall plants are safe for your pets. Popular plants like Daffodils, Daisies and different varieties of lilies are poisonous to dogs.
Regardless of what you do – we hope you enjoy the break in temperatures because it looks like warmer temperatures are headed our way this October.
