Free adoptions highlight annual Pet Fest on Saturday at Polk County Animal Control office

Polk County Animal Control's annual Pet Fest is Saturday, Dec. 14.

The annual Pet Fest will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control, 7115 De Castro Road in Winter Haven (just off the Polk Parkway Winter Lake Road exit).

The event offers free pet adoptions (including spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, microchip ID and county license), with more than 100 dogs and cats available, PCSO said in a news release. Leashes and cat carriers will be offered free of charge, and every pet adopted that day will go home with a free holiday ornament.

About 30 vendors will provide food, services and pet items. Santa Claus will also be available for photos with pets.
