WALKER COUNTY, GA. (WDEF) An animal control officer recently made a distressing discovery. Four dogs were trapped inside a sweltering car.
Temperatures outside the car neared 90 degrees. Inside, it was much hotter.
The dogs were in awful conditions.
“The heat that they were left in resulted in feces and urine. There were severe fleas on all three of the dogs, you could see them crawling around. The fourth dog that was in a shed had no food or water.” said Animal Control Director Bailey Clements.
Somehow, all four dogs survived.
Now, they are getting the care they desperately needed. “We have a phenomenal staff over at the animal shelter, about 2am that night staff members met us over there and was fully processed. We documented their bodies, made sure they were fully vaccinated and gave them flea and tick medication,” said Clements
The dogs are now doing great, and they are ready to be adopted soon.
