ABERDEEN – An animal cruelty investigation is underway after four dead dogs were found in bags on the parkway, New Jersey State Police said.

Around 11 a.m. on Feb. 27, troopers responded to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s Telegraph Hill Maintenance Yard for a report of animal cruelty, police said. Maintenance workers had recovered four large “Retriever” brand dog food bags on the Garden State Parkway South near milepost 119.4. The bags contained the remains of four dead brown dogs.

Further investigation found that the four canines were Pitbull mixes and had injuries consistent with dog fighting, according to police.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has information regarding possible dog fighting rings is asked to contact the Troop “D” Holmdel, Criminal Investigation Office at 732-441-4500 ext. 7426, state police said. Anonymous tips are also welcome.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
