Several cats and dogs are at risk of euthanasia if they are not fostered within the next few days.
MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Animal Care and Control (MACC) is looking for people willing to foster cats or dogs — and these animals’ lives depend on it.
The Facebook group Friends of MACC posted that the organization impounded 25 cats in a single day in July and anticipates adding another 16 cats due to hoarding cases. Several were adopted, but nine of these cats aren’t ready to be placed on the adoption floor due to nervousness.
These cats need to find rescue placement by Monday or they will be euthanized. As for dogs, there are several that need rescue placement or adoption by Thursday, July 25, or they will be euthanized, according to Friends of MACC.
Since MACC has limited space and received so many animals from hoarding cases, the staff has to assign euthanasia dates to the animals due to overcrowding.

If you’re interested in fostering one of the at-risk cats or dogs, you can contact Friends of MACC on Facebook or one of the shelter’s approved rescue partners at this link.
If you’re interested in adopting a pet, Minneapolis residents only have to pay the fee of a license. Non-residents will be charged $100 for a dog and $25 for a cat. Here’s the link to look at the pets available.
