FORT WORTH, Texas – The Fort Worth Fire Department put out a house fire and saved a family’s dog on Friday afternoon.
What we know:
Firefighters were called to a home on West Spurgeon Street on Fort Worth’s south side shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday.
When teams arrived at the scene, they saw heavy fire coming from the front of the home.
During search and rescue efforts, Fort Worth firefighters found a dog inside the home.

They gave the dog oxygen for around 20 minutes.
The animal’s condition improved, and it was eventually turned back over to its owner.
No humans were injured in connection to the fire.
What we don’t know:
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
