PORTLAND, Maine — The New Hampshire Fisher Cats halted the Portland Sea Dogs’ four-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory at Delta Dental Park.
The game, part of a week-long series, saw Sea Dogs’ starter Blake Wehunt deliver a strong opening with a 1-2-3 first inning, including two strikeouts. However, the Fisher Cats took the lead in the second inning when Ryan McCarty hit a powerful shot off Tyler Miller, allowing Devonte Brown to score, putting New Hampshire ahead 1-0.
In the third inning, Peyton Williams extended the Fisher Cats’ lead with a two-run home run to deep center field. The Sea Dogs were unable to recover, resulting in a 4-1 loss.
The two teams are set to face off again Thursday night.
