Firefighters save couple, 2 dogs trapped by high, fast moving water in Oakley

Cincinnati firefighters rescued two people and their two dogs after the couple became trapped by high, fast-moving water in Oakley Wednesday night.

They were found under a bridge holding on to a concrete wall when firefighters arrived at 3981 Rosslyn Dr. just before 8 p.m., a news release stated.

Three dozen firefighters managed to save the people and dogs using personal flotation devices, ropes, and ladders over the course of about 20 minutes.

The news release stated no injuries were reported.

The rescue happened after Greater Cincinnati was hit with a storm that brought heavy rain, winds, and hail to some areas.

As of 10 a.m. Thursday morning, there’s still a spattering of people without power, especially near the Evanston and Woodburn neighborhoods, just south of Cheviot, near New Burlington, and Fairfield, among other locations. For a complete list of power outages, visit the Duke Energy website.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
