Firefighters rescue person, 4 dogs trapped in area house fire

FRANKLIN — Firefighters rescued a person, and four dogs trapped in a Warren County home that was on fire Sunday.

Franklin firefighters and officers responded at 7:50 p.m. to the 200 block of Sycamore Street on reports of a house fire, according to dispatchers.

When they arrived, they found a house on fire with reported entrapment.

“With the assistance of Franklin (Police), crews were able to rapidly locate and rescue the victim and four dogs.  The fire was quickly extinguished. One victim was transported to the hospital, and another individual was transported after assisting in the removal of the trapped victim,” said the Franklin City Professional Firefighters Local 3742.

The victim’s status is not known currently, dispatchers told News Center 7.

The Clearcreek Fire District, Franklin Township Division of Fire, Middletown Firefighters Local 336, and Joint Emergency Medical Services provided mutual aid and handled multiple calls, the union said on social media.

The fire remains under investigation.
