Fire claims life of 78-year-old woman; pets rescued but 2 dogs still missing

SAN ANTONIO – An elderly woman died after being trapped inside a burning house on the Northwest Side.

The deadly fire started just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday at a home off Southill Road near Loop 410.

Firefighters said the fire started at the back of the house and that the 78-year-old woman was trapped inside.

Crews were able to pull her out, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified her as Ellen Musgrave.

The woman did have several pets. Two dogs are still unaccounted for, but one dog and some birds were saved.

No word on what started the fire.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
