There is a new and exciting pop-up business at the Del that is definitely worth a visit. Located on the front porch of the iconic hotel till the end of July, “FASHIONPHILE” is like entering a candy store for women’s handbags.
Fashionphile is a woman-owned business founded in 1999 in Carlsbad, California. They are an ultra-luxury recommerce retailer specializing in the buying and selling of accessories like bags, jewelry, shoes and scarves. The new pop-up store at the Del is concentrating only on handbags.
Upon entering what you can only describe as “Carrie Bradshaw’s closet,” your eyes immediately gaze at what this beautiful store has brought to the landscape of Coronado. Sales Specialist Delaney Wilson and her team are there to guide you through each bag and the details of its craftsmanship and value. “We are here to help you find your holy grail,” said Wilson. “Coming to the San Diego market at the Del presents bags that are not on our website and are one of a kind for the month of July.”
When you visit Fashionphile, you can be the buyer or the seller. The bags in the store are a pre-owned product that has gone through a rigorous process to make it to the shelves of the store. Fashionphile examines the handbag brought in from a customer, authenticates the bag, gives it a rating for resale, and the seller gets paid within 2-4 days.
“We examine the fabric, hardware, quilting, and glazing on all of our bags,” said Wilson. “We have ex-ray machines and alloy testers, and even microchipping for some bags.”
“Our testers are trained and certified and it enables us to detect any flaws in the item and certify that it is the real thing.” From there, the items are listed on their website in categories: giftable, new and excellent.
“We are very transparent in our description of items on our website,” said Wilson. “We spend quality time with our clients whether they are buying or selling, and we will let you know whether the bag and the prices fit together.” Authenticity on every item is guaranteed or 100% money back.
This type of buying and selling of luxury handbags and additional items is not a new concept. There are other companies who do the same, but Fashionphile has been given a top rating by consumers for their quality, honesty, and authenticity of products. They were presented with the coveted 2023 Accessories Council Excellence Award for retail innovation and setting a new standard of excellence by implementing best-in-class shopping experiences, valued partnerships and unbeatable services.
There are additional locations for this thriving and exciting business including their flagship store in Carlsbad (20,000 items … OMG), to Los Angeles, New York City and others. You can find all the details on their website www.fashionphile.com
Fashionphile will be at the Hotel Del through the end of July. Hours are 10am-6pm Monday through Saturday and 10am-5pm Sundays. There will be new and beautiful bags brought in throughout the month and shipping is available if you are visiting Coronado. For those that are local and looking to clean out their closets, Fashionphile offers VIP service in the privacy of your home to view your items and give you a buyout price.
“We love working with our customers and helping them find something really special,” said Wilson. The amount of traffic and excitement this business has generated is infectious as you sit in the store. Don’t miss out on owning a vintage or designer item at a “pre-loved” price. Because Fashionphile and Miss Bradshaw think alike, they share an iconic slogan: “I like my money where I can see it…hanging in my closet.”
