MALIBU, California — Actor Michael Madsen, who has had major roles in several of Quentin Tarantino’s films, has been arrested after he reportedly was involved in a physical altercation with his wife.
Deadline reports that deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office were called to Madsen’s home in Malibu just after midnight on Saturday. Madsen, 66, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. He was released after posting a $20,000 bond.
“It was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope resolves positively for them both,” a representative for Madsen said in a statement to Variety.
The sheriff’s office tells the Hollywood Reporter that the incident remains under investigation.
Madsen has appeared in more than 200 films during his career, but is best known for his roles in multiple Tarantino films. It started with Tarantino’s first major production, 1992′s “Reservoir Dogs,” in which Madsen plays the psychotic Mr. Blonde. In perhaps the movie’s most famous scene, Madsen’s character tortures a police officer while dancing to “Stuck in the Middle with You.”
Madsen’s multiple collaborations with Tarantino include both “Kill Bill” films, “The Hateful Eight” and “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood.” Among his non-Tarantino films are “Thelma & Louise,” “Die Another Day,” and “Donnie Brasco.”
