Family dog kills woman inside pet’s pen, family says

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) – A 62-year-old woman died after being attacked by a dog in Alabama.

The Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office said it received a call about the attack around 9:20 p.m. on July 11.

The attack occurred off of Highway 69 North close to the Berry community.

When deputies responded, they said they found the woman dead inside a dog pen.

The 911 call was placed by a family member of the victim who had been contacted by the victim’s husband.

The victim’s husband said he tried to call her but was unable to make contact.

He asked the 911 caller to go check on her. That person went to the home and found her in the dog pen.

When he entered the pen, he said the dog attacked him and he was forced to put the dog down.

Investigators said the animal was a large breed dog and a family pet.

The sheriff’s office says the family had never had issues with the dog before.

Capt. Marty Sellers said the sheriff’s department has no plans to test the dog for rabies. He said he is unsure if the victim’s family plans to have the animal tested.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
