Expect to see 3 handbag trends all over the high street in 2025

Who doesn’t love shopping for handbags? Whether your budget is more Mulberry or Mango, the right accessory can elevate a basic outfit.

But what styles of bag will be trending next season? Well, we’ve scoured SS25 runway shows (and the new-in sections of our favourite high street heroes) and identified three designs we reckon will be everywhere come summer.

Whether you’re looking for a work-friendly tote or fancy reprising an early 00s silhouette, keep reading to find your ideal arm candy for 2025…

The XXL Tote

According to the fashion set, the motto this summer is ‘the bigger, the better’. Celebs from Bella Hadid to Dakota Johnson have been snapped with bags big enough to chuck everything in – a welcome departure from the micro bag trend of 2017 (Jacquemus, we’ve still not forgiven you).

When it comes to picking a XXL bag, take inspiration from Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sienna Miller, both leaning fully into the boho revival. Suede, fringed versions are a great bet, and woven styles will stick around for a few more seasons too.

£45, M&S

£60, Joe Browns

The Bowler Bag

Inspired by the bags – you’ve guessed it – bowlers used to carry their balls in in the 50s and 60s, the bowler bag became a huge hit when reimagined by Prada in the early 2000s.

The noughties relic is set to have a resurgence this spring, with Miu Miu, Stella McCartney and Hermès all including them in their SS25 collections. We’ve spotted impressive (and a little more budget friendly) suede versions at both Asos and Cos.

£225, Cos

£70, Asos

£135, Anthropologie

The Vanity Case

Part handbag, part make-up holder, if the YSL runway (and Sofia Richie) is anything to go by, vanity cases are now everyday accessories. We’ve spotted a gorgeous quilted one at Charles and Keith with extra secure zips, but if you don’t want to risk bumping into someone holding the same design, there’s an absolute trove of vintage cases on second-hand shopping sites.

£69, Charles & Keith

£87, Radley

£65, Helena Rubinstein via eBay

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
