EMTs who rescued dog after rollover crash reunite with dog’s owner

VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) – The two EMTs who found the 9-month-old husky that was ejected in last week’s rollover car crash on I-75 reunited with the dog on Sunday.

Rebecca Durham and Jessica Jones belong to the Venice Fire Department and said they are glad they could help.

“We’re all animal lovers here,” Jones said. “If we don’t have kids, those dogs are like our babies…it was a very emotional call.”

The EMTs met up with Courtney Dean, her fiancé Brandon Clark and husky Poseidon at their fire station. Despite a minor hip and leg injury, Poseidon ran right up to the paramedics.

“Aww you’re such a pretty dog,” Jones said.

Durham initially spotted the husky the day after the crash, while driving on the inside lane of I-75.

“I’m glad I made that decision,” Durham said. “I could have missed him.”

Dean said she is just happy to be back with her dog. “It’s a miracle.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
