Sportsmen are no strangers to animal extremists working to ban the use of hunting dogs in their effort to end all hunting. This is exactly why Senate Bill 96 is needed. This important bill will ensure our hunting and working dogs can participate in the activities for which they were born and bred.
Last heard in January, SB 96 passed the Senate by a vote of 40 to 10 and has been waiting for its next hearing date in the Senate. That time has arrived.
On Tuesday, March 18, at 3 p.m., in room 472, the House Local Government Committee is scheduled to hear this important bill.
Senate Bill 96, the Working Animal Protection Act, prohibits a local government from enacting an ordinance or resolution that terminates, bans, effectively bans, or creates an undue hardship relating to the job or use of a working animal or animal enterprise in the commerce, service, legal hunting, agriculture, husbandry, transportation, law enforcement, ranching, entertainment, education or exhibition.
Use the Take Action Button below to email the committee urging them to support sportsmen and their hunting/sporting dogs and vote “Yes” to SB 96. Remind them that our dogs are just as important as our rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, and bow, if not more.
