Emaciated Dogs Found Abandoned In Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Animal Control is asking for help with finding the owner of two dogs that were recently abandoned in Hamden.

The dogs were found at the corner of Mt. Carmel Avenue and Chestnut Lane on June 12, according to the animal control.

“They were more than likely dumped there when they were no longer good for breeding,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “Both dogs are intact, one male, one female.”

The female dog is emaciated, and the male is “thin, but not as weak and emaciated as the poor female,” according to the post.

“They are bonded and the female goes wherever the male goes,” officials wrote. “We are calling them Duke and Daisy. Both dogs are super sweet.”

Anyone with information about the dogs is asked to call 203-230-4080.

The animal control shared photos of the dogs in the post on Facebook, but warned of graphic photos (view the post here).

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
