Driver wanted for hit-and-run that seriously injured dog in Milwaukie

MILWAUKIE, Ore. (KPTV) – The Milwaukie Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a driver who fled after hitting a dog on Highway 224.

Police say a driver in a white Mercedes sedan hit the dog and narrowly missed the dog’s owner at the intersection of Highway 224 and Southeast Freeman Way at about 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26.

The driver reportedly stopped for a moment before continuing east on Highway 224.

A 2-year-old girl was left on a bus for several hours on Monday in nearly freezing weather by her daycare providers in Aumsville.

The dog, named Boomer, was seriously hurt and treated at a local animal hospital. Police say he is now on the road to recovery.
