FALLON, Nev. (KOLO) -High Sierra Lifeline K9 Rescue rescued seven Belgian Malinois from the bottom of a 20-foot embankment near Lahontan Reservoir earlier this week.
Injuries suggested the dogs were tossed down the embankment, High Sierra reported.
There is an eighth dog still out there that seems scared.
The group is asking for donations to help take care of the dogs. Your Local Pet Station also helped with the rescue.
The dogs are being treated with antibiotics and are being dewormed. One of the adult males dubbed Tahoe has a damaged eye that will need to be removed He also has damage to the bone around an eye socket.
High Sierra Lifeline k9 Rescue is a Nevada nonprofit that specializes in primarily Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds, and Dutch Shepherds. It says these dogs are harder for most shelters and rescues to handle.
