One would think bringing a dog on vacation would energize and excite them, but a Labrador’s face in a recent TikTok video showed the opposite.
The Labrador was sitting on a doggy bed in an October 15 TikTok video with her head down. She glanced up at the woman talking with disgust and thought, “How dare she ask if I want to go on a second walk?” The dog didn’t budge, not even when the Dalmatian came over to give her a slight boost. She wanted out of that vacation immediately.
TikTok user @riley.in.squares told Newsweek via direct messaging that the day before this video was taken, the family and dogs went on a long walk in North Wales. When they returned, she remembered there was no food in the house for the humans since they arrived late the night before. That meant another trip outside was happening, and this dog wasn’t having it.
“Obviously, we couldn’t leave the dogs alone and thought it was easier to grab food from a cafe and do our food shop for the rest of the week in one go,” she said. “[The Labrador] just wasn’t impressed that we were going back out again.”
No amount of asking or begging would get the dog up. She even hesitantly took the treat offered to her. She was only getting up if she heard the word “home.”

Luckily, she didn’t feel this way the entire vacation. The dog was just exhausted from the walk.
“I honestly think she thought we were going out walking again, and all she wanted was for us to light the fire and have a movie afternoon,” @riley.in.squares said.
The video has over 74,300 views and 2,618 likes, with viewers stating they understand this dog’s feelings: vacation is for rest, not go, go, go.
“She’s like, ‘I’m a Lab, not a spaniel. 1 walk then cozy up in bed next to a fire or sunbathe.’ Oh she’s so adorable,” commented one TikTok user.
Agreeing with the dog’s protest for another walk, a commenter wrote: “Me on family holiday ‘I’m more of a lay-around-er.'”
A third person pointed out: “I think you’re ordering a takeaway because she ain’t moving another paw.”
