The CCHS Bulldogs fell to the Fairview Warriors On October 18th at Rowley Field. The ‘Dogs were driving the ball on the ground throughout their first possession until a fumble gave the ball to the Warriors.
The Bulldog defense was holding number one ranked Fairview on the next series as well, at least until the Warriors connected on a 36-yard touchdown pass. ‘Dog defensive back Ethan Mellon was in a good position on the play, but wasn’t able to make a play on the ball and missed the tackle.
Fairview scored quickly on their next possession too, with a 31-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs were never able to recover.
The running clock rule came into effect throughout most of the second half. CCHS was able to score a couple of touchdowns late in the game to get the goose egg off of the scoreboard, but it was much too little too late as the game ended, 16-41.
This Friday the Bulldogs will travel to Scobey. With a slightly healthier squad, Blue is aiming to rebound from their loss to Fairview in an all-important game where the victor will head to the Montana 8-Man playoffs; the loser will be done for the season.
