Dogs sweep Gary SouthShore

The Chicago Dogs finished the job Sunday night, completing the sweep of the Gary SouthShore RailCats with a 5-1 win behind strong pitching.

John Baker took the mound for the Dogs and was lights out through six innings, keeping Gary off the board. In the third, Alex McGarry got things going with an RBI single to bring in TJ Hopkins. Two innings later, Hopkins came around again on a RailCats error and gave the Dogs a 2-0 lead.

The sixth inning brought more damage, as Brantley Bell delivered a two-run single, scoring Henry Kusiak and Reggie Pruitt, to stretch the lead to 4-0. Kusiak added one more in the seventh with an RBI single.

Zach Davidson took over in the seventh, and Bryce Schaum made his Dogs debut in the eighth, though he gave up a solo homer to spoil the shutout. The Dogs have won nine of their last 10.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
