Dogs rescued from Carroll County home after attempted escape through dryer vent, broken window

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Police in Carrollton, Kentucky, are trying to track down a suspect after several dogs were seen trying to escape from a broken window at a home.

Officers responded to a home on Taylor Street in Carrollton after a caller said they also saw several dogs trying to get out of the house through a dryer vent.

Officers said the home was in deplorable living conditions and smelled of ammonia and feces with no visible food or water for the dogs.

A family member who didn’t live at the home later arrived and let the dogs out.

Five adult dogs and 17 unweaned puppies were surrendered to Carroll County Animal Control.

Investigators later found the residence didn’t have water supplied for 60 days. The home owner still hasn’t been found.
