Dogs rescued after falling 30 feet into open well in Upstate

ANDERSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Anderson Technical Rescue Team said two dogs have been rescued after falling into an open well Tuesday night.

According to officials, a team was called around 7:30 p.m. to assist Double Springs Fire with a confined space animal rescue. Upon arrival, they learned two dogs had fallen 30 feet into an open well.

After completing atmospheric monitoring, officials said crews used a rope system to lower a a rescuer to extract the dogs.

The rescue team said once the dogs were removed, crews secured the well.

Both dogs appeared to be okay and were left in the car of their owners.
