Dogs removed from Washington County dog breeder during investigation

WASHINGTON COUNTY — Several dogs were removed from the property of a dog breeder in Washington County as part of an investigation on Friday morning.

At around 9 a.m., a search warrant was executed by law enforcement personnel with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 1355 Tulip Ave. in rural Washington County, according to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The property belongs to dog breeding business BR’s Dobermans, which is owned and operated by Terry Yoder.

Throughout the Washington County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation, multiple Doberman breed canines were humanely removed from the business and/or property, the release states.

The Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Paws and More Animal Shelter of Washington, Iowa City Animal Shelter, and the State of Iowa Certified Veterinarian all assisted with the removal of the dogs from the property.

This incident is considered an ongoing investigation and additional information shall be released when it is available, the release states.
